Wyoming -- where tumbleweeds are king

We live in a windswept part of the state of Texas but evidently it is nothing compared to where these poor folks live in Wyoming. Imagine going to sleep on a windy night and waking up to tumbleweed city.

Our family would frequently drive across southern Wyoming to get to Utah when we lived in Littleton, Colorado.

One time we were driving through Laramie and I noticed that most of the people had skinned faces and hands. Curiosity got the best of me. I stopped and asked one of the people on the street what happened.

He said that the wind quit blowing.

The anemometers used in Wyoming are interesting. They are constructed by hanging a logging chain from a telephone pole. If you can hear the chain rattle, it is a fairly calm day.

Looks like Eagle Mountain to me.
