Quote of the day...

Yesterday I was released from my calling as the Food Storage specialist. After scripture study last night, we sat around and talked about our favorite parts of church. While someone else was talking about my release, Isaac interrupted and said, "You mean we won't have to carry in cans anymore?"

If you've ever ordered from the cannery and come to my house to can, you know what he's talking about.

(For all the others--when I'd drive to the Carrollton cannery, the order would usually include about 150 #10 aluminum cans. The big ones. The cannery worker and I would load them off the pallet into my trailer and when I got home, my kids would take the cans from the trailer, through my house to stack them in our back playroom. If you have big hands, you can carry a max of 8 cans per trip, so there were usually a lot of trips.)

I guess you can say I made that calling a family affair. Maybe they were just as happy that I was released. (but just for the record, Isaac said that with a frown--he liked it when I canned.)

Did you get a new calling? Who replaced you? I would feel very overwhelmed if I had to replace you.

I agree about Deena (and H!) and the lack of postings!

I will never forget the blessing my family received from your family volunteeringly (is that a word?) serving as the food storage specialists. We still enjoy little hidden love notes. You guys are the best!
