If you have lived within the boundaries of the Waco II Ward then you know Aaron and Robin Ameny. This picture was in the Temple Daily Telegram today. It ran with a story about the growth of Spanish branches and wards. The woman holding the hymn book is Robin's mother, Holly Billings.
Holly and her husband Jim serve in Spanish branch in Temple. I thought the story was well done. It begins with some statistics about general church growth then focuses in on what is happening locally in Temple.
I visited Temple's Spanish branch several months ago for a high council assignment and was impressed with Jim and Holly's story, so I pitched the idea to Tomie Lunsford, a Telegram reporter who regularly writes stories for the Faith Page.
Tomie did a good job. I think she gracefully portrays Sister Billings humility and faith, which, to me, is the real story.
