Palmyra Temple
Brandy's father has been working in Pennsylvania. Her mother joined him recently and on his days off they have become tourists. This weekend they visited Palmyra, New York -- one of the major historical places of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. These are two of the many pictures they sent us.
This is where Joseph Smith had his first vision in what we call the Sacred Grove. The golden plates, which were translated into the Book of Mormon, where found buried in the Hill Cumorah. Each year the church organizes a pageant on the hill depicting the events associated with the restoration.
Joseph's prayer was in the spring of 1820. It is referenced often in the church. I had not given much thought, however, to what Palmyra looks like in the fall. Some day I might see it for myself. After seeing these pictures Brandy said if we ever visit Palmyra again, she would like to go in the fall.

That is beautiful. Today we were driving and Brittany pointed out some slight coloring of the leaves. It was nice, but nothing like that.
