Three

Four years and one week after Isaac was born, Emma joined our family. You know what that means--today is Emma's birthday! She's talked a lot about her birthday for months now. She knows the order of birthdays in our family: Rebekah, Paul, Dad, Mom, Isaac, then Emma. She keeps track, too. Every day since Isaac's birthday, she has reminded us (and we've reminded her) that her birthday was next. Thank goodness that build-up only lasted a week.

We had a little party for her with a few friends. But when you add a few friends to a few siblings and cousins, you get a lot of kids. The house was full, the house was loud, but it was exactly what it was supposed to be. Emma was genuinely thrilled at every present. The "theme" was Dora the Explorer and a lot of the gifts reflected that. Emma didn't know there was so much Dora stuff available. Neither did I. When Emma opened a card from her grandma, a check fell out. Paul Ivan explained to Emma that it was $10, and Emma threw both fists straight into the air and yelled, "I got money!!!" Funny, I feel the same way when that happens to me.

Well, Happy Birthday, Sweet Emma. We love you. You're a joy to have in our family. If you think you had a great day today, just wait until Christmas. Everyone get to open presents.

Time flies! Emma was just a newborn when we started going to the Waco II Ward. And I remember when she started Nursery, pretty soon she is going to be giving talks in Primary! HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMMA!
Adam LOVES birthdays too. He talks about birthdays ALL THE TIME! He did talk about Austin's birthday for the 2 months between theirs and now that mine is coming up he is talking about mine but he still talks about his.

I remember when she just turned 18 months and cried coming into nursery. Now look at what a big kid she is! Hope she had a fun day!
